Police step up patrols and issue antisocial behaviour warnings for Scots beaches as temperatures soar

sunseekers prepare to flock to Scots beaches today. Officers will be upping patrols in Ayrshire and Edinburgh after a string of incidents in recent weeks sparked by good weather.

The warnings were issued after teenagers were arrested following a mass brawl at Portobello beach last weekend. Edinburgh Police Division said in a statement yesterday: "Last weekend saw an increase in antisocial behaviour and disorder, particularly at Portobello Beach and the Meadows.
