Police send out warning about fraudsters using this TV Licensing scam

Police are urging the public not to send money to fraudsters posing as TV Licensing officers. Emails doing the rounds recently claiming to be from the Licensing Authority have been found to be scams, officers said.

The emails ask people to follow a link and provide personal information, including bank details. The fraudsters then call the person and try to encourage them to send over cash.

Police say anyone who receives this sort of correspondence should report it to authorities. In a post on Facebook, a spokesman for GMP's Bury North team said: "Emails are being circulated pretending to be from the TV Licensing Authority.
