Police investigate 'arson attack' after BMW set alight and Mini found damaged

For the latest Rochdale news sign up to the MyRochdale newsletter here Police are investigating a potential arson attack after one car was set on fire and another found damaged.

Emergency services were called to Windermere Road in Middleton at around 3.45pm on Thursday. Firefighters found a BMW ablaze and spent 45 minutes putting the fire out.

An image shared with the Manchester Evening News shows that the car was already badly dented before it was set alight. Police were also called to the scene and began carrying out inquiries.

A Mini Cooper was also found to be damaged. A spokesperson confirmed officers are investigating whether the blaze was started deliberately.
