The Western Cape beach town of Plettenberg Bay is hosting the inaugural Lovefest, with four days of queer entertainment. Whether you are part of the LGBTQI+ community or not, you’re invited to attend this loved-up event from 21 to 24 April at Grand Lookout Beach.

Each night has a theme: comedy, wedding, circus and beach. Performers include comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout, drag artistes Lily Slaptsilli, Courtney De Vorst and Manilla Von Teez, DJ Mark Stent and a host of others.

You can also expect a magician, circus acrobat acts and burlesque dancers to keep you entertained. Lovefest is the brainchild of Singapore-born interior designer Jas JHOL and his husband Andre, who also own the Sugarbakers Villa guest house. “We have come a long way as humanity and society, but there is much work still needed in certain communities around us, which still today dictates who we can be and who we should love,” says JHOL. “The Lovefest welcomes you; people of any faith, race, religion, community, whether able-bodied or not, and all self-acknowledged sexualities.” For more information, check out the Instagram Page or the Lovefest website.
