Sylvester Stallone is unhappy with his lack of ownership rights over "Rocky," the movie that launched his career. Over the weekend, Stallone voiced his anger on Instagram, calling out Irwin Winkler, producer of the Rocky franchise and its sequel movies "Creed," for keeping a noteworthy amount of revenue generated from the films from him.

The action icon — who wrote and starred in the 1976 sports classic and its subsequent sequels — is bringing his feud with the film's producer into the spotlight.The 76-year-old screen legend and filmmaker took to Instagram on Sunday to take a few swings at Irwin Winkler — who produced the films and their spin-off films — as well as his son, David Winkler.Stallone has been hitting Winkler hard with personal attacks, and shared an surreal portrait of Winkler to Instagram.

Sylvester Stallone was the writer and star of the hit 1976 film Rocky and its 5 sequels, but he doesn’t own any of the rights to his creation. The action star is calling for producer Irwin Winkler to give him “what’s left of [his] rights back,” a “painful subject” Stallone says “eats at my soul.”

Deadline has mentioned it was going to happen numerous times, but Michael B. Jordan has now committed to a step up to a new title: director. He’ll helm the third installment of Creed, per MGM, which has dated the film for Thanksgiving, 2022. But most knew this was in the cards for several years since Irwin Winkler, producer of the original Rocky films and the Creed spinoffs, revealed that Jordan was going to be the director of the third film.
