Odion Ighalo refused to discuss his contract situation at Manchester United because he believes it would have been insensitive for him to do so.
Ighalo is contracted to United until the end of the season after joining the club on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January, but the extension of the campaign caused by the coronavirus pandemic has thrown his future into doubt.
As things stand, Ighalo is only eligible to play for United until the end of June but the season could yet go on well into the summer.
The Nigerian's form since arriving has led to talk of him signing a permanent deal at Old Trafford, with both the player and United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having publicly spoken about the prospect of a permanent move in recent weeks.
