Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard looks to get the stopper much-needed game time and replace former Celtic target Mario Vuskovic. The Croatian was crocked for the whole of last season as he was forced to watch from the sidelines as Rangers made history with their title win.

Gerrard played down recent reports that Katic’s Ibrox career was over but admitted he had to go out on loan to get up to speed in the short term.Katic moved to Ibrox in a £1.5 million deal from Slaven Belupo at the start of Gerrard’s first season in charge three years ago.

The 24-year-old then signed an extension to his contract in October last year, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2023.But his heartbreaking knee injury has left a question mark hanging over his long term future.
