Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers were "lucky" to see off Celtic on derby day. A spate of Covid cases saw the Ibrox boss forced into quarantine ahead of his side's first derby of the season.

Despite this, Gary McAllister oversaw a 1-0 win thanks to Filip Helander 's second half header in the absence of Steven Gerrard.

Celtic hero Sutton insisted his former side could have taken something from the game - pointing to Odsonne Edouard's first half miss on BBC's 606 in a debate with an Ibrox diehard.

Fellow host Robbie Savage wasn't having any of it, and neither was caller Paul as they continued to press Sutton on the game.
