Nicola Sturgeon has been hit with a furious backlash after telling Scots tourists they need to self-isolate for 14 days again on their return home if they are heading to Spain or are already there.

The First Minister took to Twitter on Saturday night to announce the reversal of a recent decision to relax quarantine restrictions on those flying in from the popular holiday destination.

Many headed off to the sun or booked holidays confident that they would be able to enjoy a break in Spain without the hassle of missing two weeks' work on their return.But Saturday night's U-turn left holidaymakers fuming and political opponents also waded in to slam the Scottish Government's "baffling" decisions.
