Nicola Sturgeon has slammed the thugs who attacked emergency services on Bonfire Night and failed to follow strict lockdown rules on outdoor gatherings.
A dozen fire crews reported being attacked by members of the public last night who were throwing stones and other debris.The Scottish Government last week unveiled plans to better regulate the sale of fireworks north of the Border but has faced calls to ban the sale of the items alltogether.But the First Minister said today Holyrood lacked powers on the issue and would be unable to implement a total crackdown.Speaking at her regular media briefing, Sturgeon said the "vast majority" of people had stuck to advice issued in recent days by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service on how best to.
