Premier League clubs could be handed the opportunity to make five substitutions per match when football returns. The move is being considered due to fears over player burn-out and injuries due to the long lay-off.
FIFA’s proposal to introduce the short-term measure has been made with the International FA Board who are likely to consider the change as a matter of urgency.
It will then be up to the four Home Nations to decide if it should be approved.
