A new mum was left in tears after she couldn't find powdered milk for her newborn baby in Glasgow as coronavirus panic buyers had emptied supermarket shelves.

Gemma Connolly was shocked to find the bare shelves when she went to Asda's store in Govan, the Daily Record reports. She said: "I spoke to a young guy who told me that a woman with a three-day-old baby was in tears because she couldn't find powdered milk." He also told her a pensioner had been in looking for toilet roll earlier and there was none left.

She had only needed one roll "and the poor guy couldn't do anything to help her because it was all gone. "It's disgusting the way some people are behaving.
