Joe Exotic
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Netflix’s Tiger King tops 34 million viewers in first 10 days

Tiger King has clawed its way to the top of Netflix’s viewing charts. Released last month, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness follows the exploits of Joe Exotic, a prolific tiger breeder who once ran a zoo in Oklahoma.

While Joe was sentenced to 22 years in jail for plotting to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin and other wildlife violations, the shocking programme was an instant hit with fans amid the coronavirus lockdown, having reached a U.S.

TV audience of 34.3 million unique viewers within the first 10 days of its release, according to Nielsen estimates. The figures, registered from 20 to 29 March, top those for season two of Netflix hit Stranger Things, which scored 31.2 million viewers, and fell only slightly behind
