Jayde Bond was in the Asda Wythenshawe Superstore on Wednesday evening when she noticed the teenage boy walking around upset.
When she asked if he was OK, he told her he'd lost £10 of his parents' money. She told the boy, aged around 14 or 15, to check with customer services and another woman urged him to ask security.
As Jayde was looking to see what money she had for the boy, the Civic Centre store's security guard had already handed the lad £10.
