While the VCU Rams were poised to take on the Oregon Ducks tonight, in the first round of the NCAA’s men’s tournament, the game, which was to air on TNT, was ruled a no-contest due to “COVID-19 protocols.” Any March Madness dreams on the part of the Rams abruptly ended there.“This decision was made in consultation with the Marion County Public Health Department.

As a result, Oregon will advance to the next round of the tournament,” said the NCAA in a statement. “The NCAA and the committee regret that VCU’s student-athletes and coaching staff will not be able to play in a tournament in which they earned the right to participate.
