Manchester United reportedly looked into signing Everton attacking midfielder Anthony Gordon before deciding to make a final push to sign Antony from Ajax.
United are set to sign the Brazilian winger with the 22-year-old due to become Erik ten Hag's fifth summer signing, after the club have chased him for several weeks.
According to The Athletic, though, United had considered turning their attentions to Gordon after Antony's price tag had put them off.
