A man who was due to be sentenced for breaching a restraining order turned up at court - and nicked the court security phone.

Stefan Wall, 43, was waiting at the security desk at the entrance to Minshull Street Crown Court when he swiped the scanning phone which allows entry to legal professionals under the professional access scheme.

The £400 Nokia smartphone is used across court buildings globally in order to scan a code barristers and other professional court users have, to allow them enhanced access to buildings.
