A man who killed a mum-of-three with an axe and then used the weapon to severely injure her husband has been cleared of murder by a jury.
Mohammed Yaqub Malik was instead convicted of manslaughter after a court heard that he lost control following severe provocation by the couple's son Wasim Ahmed.

after accusing her of drinking his beer Preston Crown Court heard that Malik then stepped past Mrs Ahmed's slumped body and turned the axe on her husband Afaq, who had been upstairs saying his prayers.
