Man charged after making 50 calls to 999 including 11 on Boxing Day - 'none were an emergency'

Mr Chadwick, of Douglas House in Scholes, allegedly made the calls between December 24, 2020, and February 16, 2021.GMP said: "Up until January 14, 2021, the male had made 50 calls to the 999 service - 11 on boxing day alone, none of which were a genuine emergency."Mr Chadwick was charged with an offence under section 127 of the Communications Act 2003, a 'rare' occurence."Prosecutions under this offence are rare but on this occasion, the male having been warned previously about the misuse of 999, action needed to be taken," added the force..
