The man accused of murdering Tyrone Williamson is set to stand trial later this year. Anthony George, 41, was charged with murder in January, after 25-year-old Tyrone was stabbed to death outside his home in Battenberg Road, Bolton, on Saturday, December 11.
Appearing at Manchester Crown Court in Crown Square today, March 4, Mr George pleaded not guilty to murder, and will be held in custody until his trial on May 23. An inquest into Tyrone's death opened at the end of December. Senior coroner for Manchester West Timothy Brennand heard that stab wounds to Tyrone's chest and abdomen were deemed to be the cause of death by pathologist Dr Naomi Carter.
Police coroner's officer Benjamin Dobbs said that Tyrone was involved in an 'altercation' outside his home and was stabbed multiple times.
