Man, 41, charged with robbery and assaulting police after elderly woman robbed in Bury

Police were called after a woman in her 70s was robbed of her mobile phone and bank card in Rectory Green, Whitefield, at around 8.55am on Sunday, March 28.

Shortly after, a man believed to be the culprit resisted arrest. Lovemore Mandega, of Church Drive in Prestwich, has now been charged with robbery and two counts of assaulting a police officer while resisting arrest.
