Lockdown rule breakers slapped with anti-social behaviour tickets by police in Pollok Park

Four people have been handed anti-social behaviour tickets by police officers after meeting in Pollok Park in Glasgow. Scots  police  have now been issued with the power to prosecute or fine people who are not following social distancing measures introduced earlier this week.

Unveiling the new law, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said people who do not comply with the lockdown rules could be "liable to an on-the-spot fine and, ultimately, if necessary, prosecuted".

She stressed she hoped they will not have to be used, adding: "They are there to make sure we can ensure the right things are done to help us delay the spread of the  virus.
