Perthshire stores in the balance.The Carlisle-based retailer, which has two EWM branches in Perth, one in Blairgowrie and another in Pitlochry, has been hit hard by a drop in tourists and the older sector of the clothing market staying away from stores during COVID-19.Last week it was revealed that the EWM group teeters on the brink of administration, with up to 21,500 jobs at risk across the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group.Measures to prevent parents parking outside primary school are welcomedEWM confirmed on Friday, October 16 that 50 of its 260 stores would shut with the loss of 600 jobs, mostly shop floor staff.
