The musician born Richard Wayne Penniman passed away on Saturday (May 9) after a battle with bone cancer. He was 87. Billboard reports that songs by Little Richard experienced a tremendous surge in demand after his death was announced, with 4.1 million US streams of his back catalogue on May 9-10 representing a 2228% surge from streams on the previous two days (May 7-8).
