Irrfan Khan, known for his wide-ranging career in a variety of films such as Life of Pi and Slumdog Millionaire, has died at the age of 53.
Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor in 2018, and was admitted on Tuesday into a Mumbai-area hospital with a colon infection.
The father of two had previously spent time being treated in London for the rare form of cancer before returning to work last year.
He passed away on Wednesday, according to multiple Indian media reports.
