Keith Lasley says St Mirren want to hold on to Celtic target Dylan Reid and gives Joe Shaughnessy update

St Mirren chief executive Keith Lasley insists the club still hope to keep starlet Dylan Reid in Paisley.Celtic are understood to be keen on the Scotland under-17 international, despite the Saints academy midfielder having previously turned down the chance to join Ange Postecoglou's side after being told he'd be put straight into the Glasgow club's B team.Having found first team minutes hard to come by under Stephen Robinson so far this season, the Hoops have been linked with another attempt to persuade the 17-year-old to move to Celtic Park.But Buddies chief executive Lasley is adamant they still want to keep hold of the young talent ahead of the transfer window slamming shut, as well as St Mirren skipper Joe Shaughnessy who has also been linked with a move away from the club.Speaking exclusively to Renfrewshire Live Sport, Lasley said: "There's no update on Dylan just now.

As we stand there's nothing new to report on him."Dylan is one of a number of young players who have come through at the club that we want to keep and develop."Alongside Kieran Offord, Murray Campbell and Fraser Taylor, he has got minutes for the first team already this season and hopefully he can see the pathway is there into our first team this season."As a club we want to produce our own players.

It's a big part of who we are."Joe is a big character at the club and is an important player for us. "As it stands nothing is happening there as yet, but as we know in football all these things can change."You can never rule anything out in a transfer window.

But the manager is very happy with the squad we've now got and the signings we've made over the summer have been very positive."
