Jose Quitongo is confident Hamilton Accies will survive the financial turmoil of lockdown – after seeing the club at their lowest 20 years ago.
The former winger was part of the nomadic Accies side in 2000 that were in the midst of a cash crisis and had no home ground.The issues came to a head in April when the players who had not been paid took strike action and missed a trip to face Stenhousemuir – making headlines across the globe.
After skipping the trip to Ochilview as part of the wage dispute, Accies were handed a 15-point deduction, leaving them on the cusp of the bottom of the league.
Just days later a defeat to Ross County would see them sent to the Third Division.Quitongo and James Coubrough were the only two players to turn up
