John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

Johnny Depp was rumored to be appearing at the VMAs this year and he did end up making an appearance, but it was not exactly what we were expecting.

The 59-year-old actor was rumored to be dressing up as the network’s famous Moonman. While Johnny did show up at the show as the Moonperson, it doesn’t appear he was actually in attendance at the show on Sunday night (August 28) at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Click inside to check out the video… In one of the opening moments of the show, the Moonperson was seen floating over the stage, but Johnny was not actually in the suit.

Instead, a video screen was on the suit and Johnny‘s image was on the screen. His voice was heard saying, “I just want you guys to know that I’m available for birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, wakes, any all thing you need.” “And you know what?
