Hollywood heartthrob John Stamos is back on our screens but he isn’t playing his typical, lovable father figure. In Big Shot, which just landed on Disney+, the actor is playing a basketball coach for a girl’s High School team.

John Stamos recently opened up about the iconic series Fuller House and Olsen twins. In an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, the 57-year-old was asked by a fan if he was surprised Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen decided not to return for Fuller House.

The 57-year-old actor appeared on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" Thursday night and admitted, "We were disappointed, but we understood." "I remember Lori [Loughlin] saying to me, ‘They won two or three CFDA Awards [Council of Fashion Designers of America].That’s like winning two or three Oscars. If you won three Oscars, would you come back and do this?’ I was like, ‘Eh, maybe not,'" Stamos reasoned.

‘Big Little Lies?’ And they were like, ‘It’s a show about basketball.’ And my heart just sunk. Of all things! I said, ‘I’m a player?’ and they said, ‘No, you’re a coach.’ And I said, ‘OK, great … what does a coach do?’ ”Despite reservations, Stamos dove into research, he said, spending time with NBA legend Jerry West, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980.
