The singer, now 30, popped up on Steph's Packed Lunch to talk about his forthcoming tour, where he will perform George Michael numbers.
Fans were delighted, particularly when he belted out a tune, tweeting: "Wow Joe McElderry still has an amazing voice!" Joe told host Steph McGovern and Denise Van Outen about the moment he duetted with George on The X Factor.
The fresh-faced teen managed to see off Olly Murs to snatch the crown in the show's high-flying heyday - and he is still performing today.
