Jeremy Kyle Show counsellor Graham Stanier has broken his silence as he came out in defence of the show after the bombshell documentary dropped.
The explosive Channel 4 documentary Death on Daytime aired earlier this week and viewers have been critical of the axed show.
But Stanier has hit out at any criticism and said: “Many people benefited from the after care service provided by the JK show and there were also many who benefited and didn’t appear on the show…. "The service had a positive impact on many people's lives and in some cases those whose needs are often unheard and ignored within our society were acknowledged and heard by the aftercare team.” As reported in Birmingham Live, the counsellor also claimed the show challenged “homophobia, transphobia and racism and it provided a platform to brave survivors of domestic abuse, trauma and childhood trauma because they wanted to raise public awareness and ultimately help others.” The counsellor appeared before MPs back in 2019 after the Jeremy Kyle Show was cancelled following the tragic death of Steve Dymond. He told them: “That is the presenter’s style.
I’m responsible for me and my behaviour. I can’t be responsible for the presenter’s behaviour.“I’m responsible for me and for the guests.
