ITV have announced a sequel to The Murder of Stephen Lawrence, tackling the hard-hitting subjects of hate crime and police racism.

The three-part series follows on 13 years from Stephen's death and his parents' continued battle for justice. Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce (Millions, 24-Hour Party People) and Joe Cottrell Boyce (Treasure), it will be directed by Alrick Riley (Hustle, NCIS) and produced by Madonna Baptiste (The Stranger, Black Mirror, Silent Witness).

It has been commissioned by ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill. Stephen was killed on the evening of 22 April 1993 in a racially motivated attack whilst waiting for a bus in Well Hall Road, Eltham.
