Hungry punters spark rush as KFC reopens Ayr branch for drive-through meals

Hungry punters have greeted the reopening of fast food giant KFC in Ayr today.Huge queues have been snaking out of Heathfield Retail Park as the restaurant's drive-through operation starts trading again.It comes as businesses slowly start to lay out their plans to get back to work from coronavirus lockdown.One shopper said: "It's been packed all day and the queues tonight were about 30 cars deep."Folk were in for a very long wait but it just shows how desperate they are to get a taste of normality back."It comes as McDonald's confirmed its plans to get operations back up and running across the UK for drive-through food next month.And Burger King hopes to have three quarters of its outlets reopened by the end of June.
