Hundreds of people turned out for the Manchester Irish Parade today, despite being met with concern over coronavirus. Avoiding the rain, dance troupes, bands and Irish wolfhounds Finn and Oisin led the green and gold coloured parade along Deansgate.
The streets were lined with Irish flags and Guinness hats as the procession made its way from Queens Road near to the Irish World Heritage Center.
Organisers of the St Patrick’s Day Parade have faced some criticism from people concerned about the spread of coronavirus. Similar parades in London, Dublin, Liverpool and New York were cancelled because of the pandemic.
