Gennady Golovkin is back in the ring today against Ryota Murata in a middleweight title unification bout in Japan. The 40-year-old Golovkin retained his IBF and IBO titles with a victory over Kamil Szeremeta in 2020.
Golovkin is being widely tipped to fight rival Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez later this year, but first Murata stands in his way. The Japanese star represented his country at the 2012 Olympics in London.
