Martin Roberts has given an update on his 'mercy dash' to Ukraine. The Homes Under the Hammer star appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday to speak to Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid as he neared the Ukraine border in Poland.

Martin set out on his 26-hour drive on Saturday night and shared a video on social media as he stopped at a service station after taking ferry from Dover to Calais and onwards through France, Belgium and The Netherlands as he headed for Germany. "I'm heading today to Medyka, the border with Ukraine which is 20km from where the shelling happened yesterday..." He then shared his nerves, adding: "So I'm filled with a great sense of purpose but also a little bit of trepidation," to which Richard said: "I bet you are." Martin stood speaking to Susanna and Richard via video link from Krakow in front of his red van which, he said, was full of everything from medicine for children, to respirators for newborn babies, saline drips, and pet food.

His trip comes after he posted a tearful video from outside Costco after being limited to the number of bottles of children's medicine he could by before other members of the public stepped in.
