Hero Scots fishing crew rush to help in dramatic yacht rescue

lifeboat and coastguard teams worked together with local fishermen for a dramatic yacht rescue from a Scots loch. The catamaran was grounded with water pouring in when the alarm was raised at Loch Erisort, on the isle of Lewis, yesterday around 8pm.

Both the Stornoway RNLI and coastguard were called into action to aid the stricken vessel. A local fish farm boat also responded to the distress call and stood by the yacht until help arrived.The water was drained and towed her to a nearby boat yard.A Facebook post from Stornoway Coastguard read: "The team were paged, along with Stornoway RNLI, to a yacht that had grounded and was taking on water at the mouth of Loch Erisort."A local fish farm boat which had responded to the distress call stood.
