Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry "can't win" in the court of public opinion following his fallout over security in the UK, former royal butler Grant Harrold has explained.The Duke of Sussex, 37, recently announced his decision to not return to the UK for his grandfather Prince Philip's thanksgiving service, set to take place later this month.

Although the decision risks disappointing the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family, former butler and royal expert Grant has explained the Prince is in a "catch-22" situation.

Prince Harry recently raised concerns about his safety during his trips to the UK and threatened legal action to acquire security for his family when they fly over from the US.
