direct to your inboxThe government has updated its coronavirus vaccine advice for pregnant and breastfeeding women and people with allergies following the approval of the Oxford University and AstraZeneca vaccine today.The initial advice had stated that the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine - the first jab to be approved in the UK - was "not recommended" for women who are breastfeeding or pregnant.However, the revised guidance issued at a Downing Street briefing today says the vaccine can now be given to pregnant and breastfeeding women following a discussion of the benefits and risks.The Oxford vaccine may also be taken by pregnant women, heath bosses say.But both jabs should only be considered for use in pregnancy when the benefits.
