Vandals who defaced the city’s Cathedral with graffiti have been slammed as a ‘disgrace’ by council officials. Graffiti appeared on the Cathedral earlier today (July 26) near to the Glade of Light memorial, which commemorates the 22 people who were killed in the 2017 Arena bombing.
The graffiti which appeared on the church is not believed to be related to that atrocity. The words ‘Kitty’ and ‘#GMD’ were sprawled in black paint on stone walls of the 600-year-old religious site.

City centre spokesperson, Pat Karney, said: “The council has responded saying it's going to go and clear it up. “It is a disgrace to put graffiti on a sacred place like the cathedral, and for it to be opposite the Glade of Light.
