Frozen Russian bodies left across battlefield as Ukrainian troops vow 'not to lose'

A harrowing TV news report showed frozen Russian soldiers lying dead across a battlefield as Ukrainian forces vowed to fight on.

BBC correspondent Quentin Sommerville presented amongst a dozen corpses at a petrol station garage on the frontline near Kharkiv.

Ukrainian soldiers said they were "fighting like lions" as Mr Sommerville revealed some of the dead soldiers lying dead in the snow.

It comes as Ukraine continues to delay the Russian advance, with reports of plunging morale among the Kremlin’s troops. In the BBC’s latest report from the frontline, one Ukrainian soldier said: “The Russians are fighting like soldiers of 1941. “They are attacking just like in front, they don’t do any manoeuvres.
