Shirley Halperin Executive Editor, Music French Montana’s 2017 hit, “Unforgettable,” featuring Swae Lee, has achieved the rare diamond certification from the RIAA, marking equivalent sales of 10 million units.

To celebrate, the artist hosted friends and associates at his home on Wednesday night for an intimate dinner and plaque presentation.

Among those in attendance was Epic Records chair and CEO Sylvia Rhone, XO Records co-founder and CEO Sal Slaiby, SALXCO VP of A&R Rahsaan “Shake” Phelps and producer C.P Dubb.

The song was a smash across formats, and has over 1.4 billion YouTube views for its official video, which featured Ugandan youth dance troupe Triplets Ghetto Kids. “Most of the them live in the States now,” Montana noted.

Lise Pedersen French animation studio Parmi Les Lucioles has sealed a pre-sales deal with Canal+ for its 26-minute TV special pitched at this week’s Cartoon Forum in Toulouse, southern France. “Gouti’s Great Journey,” by writer-director Benedicte Galup (“Kirikou and the Wild Beasts,” “Adama”) is an adaptation of the comic book “Le Grand Voyage de Gouti” by Michel Bussi and Peggy Nille published by Langue au chat. The film tells the story of the Agoutis, a family of small rodents who live in harmony on a dream island untouched by humans. But one day, their island is devastated by a violent storm and the family is forced to leave, leading to a journey into other worlds, other species, and, above all, a journey of self-discovery.

The pact was for over $100 million, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. That’s a hefty figure and a sign of the rapid growth of Secret Cinema, which has exploded in popularity over the last decade by offering up heavily-produced experiences with the likes of Disney, Marvel, Universal, Paramount, Lionsgate, Netflix, Sony and Eon Productions. The company has sold over one million tickets to more than 50 shows. It has also recently secured a multi-year, multi-title deal with Disney, which kicked off with its hot-selling immersive experience tied to “Guardians of the Galaxy” in Wembley Park.
