Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott believes Ralf Rangnick's gameplan for Manchester United's trip to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday should dictate whether or not club captain Harry Maguire makes the starting line-up.
The England defender — who has come in for plenty of criticism this season — was dropped to the bench for last Saturday's goalless draw with Watford at Old Trafford.
Rangnick named Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence alongside Raphael Varane, with the pair helping United earn a second clean sheet in as many home games.
Therefore, it remains to be seen if Maguire will earn his place back in the side for the clash with Manchester City. He started the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in November but, along with Luke Shaw, was heavily criticised after a chaotic United display.
