Fire engulfs property next to St Mirren's SMiSA stadium

Fire gutted a building near the SMiSA stadium in Paisley on Saturday. Firefighters worked throughout the afternoon to douse the flames that could be seen spitting from the roof of the derelict Tannahill Terrace property in the Ferguslie Park area of town.They were called out at lunchtime to attend the incident and mobilised four fire engines and crew to tackle the well-developed blaze which had taken hold of much of the building.

Fortunately nobody was injured.A spokesperson said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 12.30pm on Saturday, March 9, to reports of a fire at a block of flats at Tannahill Terrace, Ferguslie Park, Paisley.“Operations Control immediately mobilised four fire appliances to the scene where crews extinguished the fire.

No casualties were reported.
