Fears have been raised that the COVID-19 lockdown has led to an increase in fly-tipping across Perth and Kinross.Fields, lay-bys and lanes have been blighted by unwanted furniture and household rubbish being illegally dumped during the lockdown.It is thought the spike has been caused by the double whammy of council recycling centres being closed and residents generating more waste being at home.Scottish Conservative MSP Liz Smith has condemned the actions saying it costs the public purse £50 million a year to clear up the mess dumped on publicly-owned sites alone.The Mid Scotland and Fife region MSP has backed the National Farmers Union Scotland, who highlighted the issue.She says abandoned furniture, DIY and garden waste are being dumped
