UK Government has announced that the 14-day self isolation policy for people returning to or visiting England from certain countries is set to be lifted on Saturday.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps is expected to detail a ‘traffic light’ system of countries which pose the least risk to public health later on today.

That means people who depart on Saturday and spend at least six days in certain locations, including Spain, Italy, France and Germany, will not need to self-isolate on their return.

Devolved governments, including Scotland, have failed to reach an agreement on restarting international travel with 'air bridges' meaning the current restrictions remain in place for now.
