Empath announce new album, share “Diamond Eyelids”

Philly art-rock four-piece Empath have announced a new album, Visitor, out February 11, 2022 on Fat Possum. Along with the announcement, they shared a new single: a murky, low-fi foot-tapper titled "Diamond Eyelids." Its Halle Ballard-directed video, also out today, features a papier-mâché marionette version of Empath dangling from unseen hands, tapping messily away at their papier-mâché instruments.

Later, they emerge from a crude womb as singer/guitarist Catherine Elicson — dressed in a pregnancy suit — mimes a difficult delivery. "This song was written stream of consciousness from a few pieced together memories I had,” Elicson said in a statement.
