Ed Sheeran

Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.

The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.

Ed Sheeran returns with new single Afterglow after year-long hiatus

ED Sheeran has released his first single - one year after announcing a hiatus from music. The 29-year-old singer thrilled fans with Afterglow, which was shared on his social media page this morning.

Posting a video of himself singing the new track, Ed confirmed that its release does not mean a new album is on the way as he made a prompt return to "dad land" after sharing.

He wrote: "Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. "Enjoy !

Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x" He'd teased the release yesterday, promising fans a "Christmas present" in the cryptic.
