EastEnders groundbreaking episode showing impact of hearing loss praised

An upcoming episode of EastEnders will tackle the impact of hearing loss. It is understood the episode will be told completely from Ben Mitchell’s point of view after the Square bad boy loses his hearing.

It is a television first as the distorted sound format will give viewers an insight into what it’s like to live with a hearing impairment daily.

The episode is expected to feature limited audio, fractured sentences and on-screen subtitles throughout.
