East Ayrshire Council have said they've had reports of works vehicles emptying grit bins after being filled. The local authority warned that anyone engaging in this type of behaviour would be reported to police.Large swathes of East Ayrshire residential streets have become treacherous after snow and frost have compacted into ice on paths and roads over the past few weeks.East Ayrshire Council posted on Facebook: "We are getting reports of works vehicles pulling up and emptying grit bins as soon as they are filled."If you see this happening in your street please get in touch with the vehicle registration number so that we can report to Police Scotland.

New York men arrested after trying to retrieve drugs they left in rental car, police say
These don’t appear to have been difficult arrests for police to make.  Two New York men were taken into custody after they allegedly left drugs in a rental car and returned to pick up their forgotten stash, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office says.  Deputies were first contacted by a rental car company at Albany International Airport on Wednesday. When they arrived to investigate the discovery made by its employees, they encountered Aasim Hilts and Shariff Frasier, police say.  The suspects left the drugs in a rental car they had returned, police say.
